Established in 1960, EMF Corporation, a family-operated enterprise initiated by Charles Smith, has been delivering superior nickel plating services to a global clientele. Operating from a substantial 27,000 square foot facility situated on a 2.5-acre property, the company employs a dedicated team of approximately 30 professionals.
EMF takes pride in its commitment to excellence, offering unparalleled customer service and high-quality products to its customers.
In a pivotal move in 1993, the company ceased all plating operations, including those involving cadmium, zinc, chrome, tin, led, anodizing, and gold and silver plating. This shift allowed EMF to focus on enhancing its electroforming services for the aerospace industry, necessitating additional floor space. Environmental regulations played a role in this transition. Fast forward to 2022, EMF further diversified its offerings by adopting electroless nickel plating, a process renowned for its uniform coating capabilities on intricate geometries and exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion. Presently, EMF is undergoing a facility upgrade to add 680 square feet for new electroforming tanks. Concurrently, the company is expanding its abrasion finishing area by 465 square feet, aiming to boost operational efficiency and service in the industry.
Over the last two decades, EMF has consistently prioritized integrating quality into its core business operations. This commitment was solidified with the attainment of AS9100 in 2006. In 2009, our practices were further aligned with international regulations by adhering to ITAR compliance. Then the pursuit of excellence continued with the Nadcap accreditation in Chemical Processing in 2011, and since then, EMF has maintained its status through annual renewals for all accreditations.
EMF Corporation is excited to announce a series of innovative projects slated for the 2024/2025 timeline. These initiatives involve significant upgrades to our facilities, including the dismantling of our existing paint booth. This strategic move is designed to accommodate the installation of three, 24-foot tanks, which will significantly enhance our production capabilities. Additionally, we are planning to decommission our current oven, a decision that will yield an additional 465 square feet of operational space. This newly liberated area will be dedicated to expanding our finishing department, allowing us to streamline our processes and improve the efficiency of our operations.
